Chris Burtch has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Athletics for Frisco Independent School District (FISD), following approval from the FISD board of trustees. Burtch will succeed Jerry Littlejohn, who is set to retire in June after serving in various roles within the district since 1992 and as Managing Director of Athletics since 2023.
Burtch joined Frisco ISD in 2014, initially taking on the role of head football coach and campus athletic coordinator at Liberty High School. Before his tenure at Frisco ISD, he was head football coach and director of athletics for Seminole ISD, marking part of his 24 years as a head football coach. In 2019, Burtch advanced to become Frisco ISD’s assistant athletic director.
With 34 years of experience in education, Burtch will now oversee an athletics program that expects over 12,000 student-athletes during the 2025-26 school year across middle and high schools. Under his leadership, FISD’s athletic department has achieved notable success over the past three years, securing eight UIL state championships and finishing as state runner-up on 13 occasions.
“I am thrilled to be able to continue supporting our 600-plus Frisco ISD coaches,” Burtch expressed. “We believe that athletics creates the foundation that helps maintain high standards in the way our student-athletes compete, as well as lead within our schools and our community.”
