Keith Self, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 3rd district since 2023, has been vocal on several issues through his recent social media posts. These posts highlight his concerns and viewpoints on art restoration at a national institution, a former FBI director’s actions, and questions surrounding Medicaid policies.
On May 15, 2025, Keith Self expressed gratitude towards Secretary Duffy for restoring visibility to the painting “Christ on the Water” at the Merchant Marine Academy. He criticized the current administration by stating that “Biden’s Department of Transportation refused to engage with my team on this issue, stonewalling multiple requests for any”.
Later that same day, Self commented on an online post by James Comey regarding President Trump. He asserted that “James Comey understood exactly what he was posting: a public threat against the life of President Trump.” He further characterized Comey as a “very SICK individual who must be held accountable.”
The following day, May 16, 2025, Self questioned Democrats about Medicaid policy in a pointed inquiry concerning taxpayer-funded healthcare for certain individuals. He asked whether “American taxpayers [should] pay the healthcare costs for a 30-year-old able-bodied man who doesn’t want to work?”
Keith Self continues to actively represent his constituency in Texas’ 3rd district while residing in McKinney. Born in Philadelphia in 1953, he brings experience and insight into his role in Congress.
