Frisco ISD cross country teams win multiple district titles and individual medals

Frisco Independent School District cross country teams achieved strong results at district meets held in McKinney and Celina on October 9, 2025. Centennial High School secured both the boys and girls team titles in the District 11-5A meet in McKinney. The Independence boys finished as runners-up, while Liberty’s girls took second place. In the District 12-5A meet, Wakeland won the boys team title and placed second in the girls division. Both Reedy’s boys and girls teams finished third.

Individual performances included Andrew Malan of Lebanon Trail winning the District 11-5A boys 5K with a time of 15:36.8. Caitlyn Ruback from Liberty won the girls race in the same district with a time of 19:48.8. In District 12-5A, Bradley Vacek of Wakeland took first in the boys race, finishing in 16:05.9.

In the District 9-4A meet held in Celina, Panther Creek’s boys team finished fourth and the girls placed sixth.

Athletes who placed in the top five for their races included Andrew Malan (Lebanon Trail), Santiago Jasso (Centennial), Evan Ewert (Independence), Roman Popowski (Heritage), Zayden Dierkes (Frisco), Caitlyn Ruback (Liberty), Grace Harris (Liberty), Avery Clements (Independence), Nandini Vegesana (Centennial), Yasmin Prellwitz (Centennial), Bradley Vacek (Wakeland), Parker Cathey (Reedy), Alex Roeren (Reedy), Dylan Grzywinski (Wakeland), Presley Robertson (Wakeland), Lily Schmidt (Wakeland), Julia Seelman (Reedy), Lainey O’Connor (Reedy), and Luke Rugg (Panther Creek).
