Eight tennis teams from Frisco Independent School District (FISD) have qualified for the upcoming playoffs, continuing a strong tradition of competitive performance in the district. Centennial High School, which has won the Class 5A state championship for two consecutive years, secured this year’s District 11-5A title and will be joined in the postseason by Lebanon Trail, Independence, and Emerson.

In District 12-5A, Wakeland, Reedy, and Lone Star earned playoff spots along with Highland Park. Panther Creek, FISD’s only school competing in Class 4A, will enter the playoffs after winning its second straight District 10-4A title.

The first round of matches is scheduled for October 6 or 7. Official times and locations are expected to be announced soon. The playoff schedule continues with area matches on October 9–11, regional quarterfinals on October 13–14, regional tournaments on October 16–17, and concludes with the UIL State Tournament in Waco on October 22–23.

Frisco ISD teams are set to face each other in the opening round of the Class 5A playoffs. Last season, Centennial’s most challenging playoff matches en route to its state championship came against other FISD teams.
