Rep. Keith Self, a U.S. Congressman who won reelection in both 2022 and 2024 against Sandeep Srivastava, used his social media platform on September 19, 2025, to comment on several topics ranging from military remembrance to recent legislative actions.

In a post marking National POW/MIA Recognition Day, Rep. Self wrote: “On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of prisoners of war (POWs) and those missing in action (MIA). This day calls to mind heroes like former Texas Congressman Sam Johnson, who survived nearly seven years as a POW in Vietnam after https://t.co/s0fuTAZdvG” (September 19, 2025).

Later that day, he addressed a recent vote in the House of Representatives regarding political violence: “58 House Democrats just voted against a resolution honoring the life of Charlie Kirk and condemning political violence. FIFTY-EIGHT. What is wrong with the modern-day Left? https://t.co/Om5en3sr6F” (September 19, 2025).

He also shared a quote from West Point highlighting the institution’s historical impact: “West Point: ‘Much of the history we teach was made by those we taught.’ https://t.co/rtPx5jYv1f” (September 19, 2025).

Rep. Self has maintained his seat in Congress through two consecutive elections. In the most recent contest held in 2024, he secured victory over Sandeep Srivastava with approximately 62.5% of the vote compared to Srivastava’s 37.6%. Two years earlier, he also defeated Srivastava with about 60.5% of votes to his opponent’s 36.9%.
