Rep. Keith Self, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 3rd district since 2023, recently shared his thoughts on various political issues through social media posts. Born in Philadelphia in 1953 and currently residing in McKinney, Self replaced Van Taylor as the representative for Texas’ 3rd District.
On May 16, 2025, Rep. Keith Self expressed his opinion about former FBI Director James Comey by stating “Comey is the poster child for TDS.” The acronym “TDS” commonly refers to “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a term used by some to describe strong opposition to former President Donald Trump.
Later that day, Rep. Self addressed budgetary concerns by commending the Budget Committee’s efforts while cautioning against superficial fiscal measures. He noted, “Glad to see that the Budget Committee is working hard to make meaningful spending cuts.” He further elaborated that some proposed cuts are being deferred to future years and stressed the need for transformative changes to control Washington’s expenditures.
In another post on May 16, Rep. Self supported remarks made by fellow Congressman Clay Higgins regarding legislative priorities. He stated “Well said, @RepClayHiggins.” Additionally, he highlighted efforts to incorporate significant spending cuts into legislation while advocating for Congress to codify President Trump’s executive orders promptly.
Keith Self continues his work in Congress with a focus on budgetary reform and legislative efficiency as he represents his constituents from Texas’ 3rd district.
