Rep. Keith Self, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, made a series of posts on October 14, 2025, addressing ongoing political and international issues. Self’s tweets covered topics including Senate procedures related to government funding, the release of hostages abroad, and domestic policy on religious law.

In his first tweet of the day, Self criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s handling of government funding negotiations. On October 14, 2025, he wrote: “Chuck Schumer’s been in the Senate 26+ years—he knows the clean CR needs 60 votes to pass in the Senate, requiring Democrat support despite GOP trifecta control. This is the #SchumerShutdown.”

Later that day, Self expressed appreciation for President Biden’s actions regarding hostages and called for prayers. At 15:00 UTC, he posted: “Thank you, @POTUS, for your decisive leadership in securing the release of the hostages. Please join me in continuing to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. “

Shortly after, Self commented on constitutional and cultural issues within the United States. At 15:13 UTC on October 14, he stated: “Proud to join @RepChipRoy to defend our Constitution and western values. Sharia has no place in America.”

Keith Self was re-elected to Congress in both 2022 and 2024. In those elections, he defeated Sandeep Srivastava by notable margins—winning with over 60% of the vote each time.

Schumer has served in the U.S. Senate since 1999 and currently holds a leadership role in shaping legislative agendas.
