Rep. Keith Self, a U.S. Congressman who won reelection in 2024 with 62.5% of the vote against Sandeep Srivastava, posted a series of messages on September 3, 2025, reflecting on topics ranging from military service to free speech and congressional ethics.

In his first post of the day, Rep. Self paid tribute to a World War II veteran: “It was an honor to have known Maj. John “Lucky” Luckadoo, one of the last surviving B-17 pilots of WWII. Lucky leaves behind a legacy of courage, faith, and sacrifice that will not be forgotten.” (September 3, 2025)

Later that afternoon, he commented on the responsibilities of elected officials: “100%! Members of Congress are elected to serve the American people, not abuse their power for their own financial benefit.” (September 3, 2025)

In his final message that evening, Rep. Self addressed concerns about freedom of expression abroad: “The assault on free speech in the UK should serve as a warning sign to Americans. The First Amendment is first for a reason and it is worth defending at all costs. Thank you, @Nigel_Farage, for drawing attention to this critical issue and for being a voice for freedom.” (September 3, 2025)

Keith Self has held his seat through multiple election cycles; in addition to his victory in 2024 with over sixty percent of the vote, he also defeated Sandeep Srivastava in the 2022 general election by nearly the same margin.
