Rep. Keith Self, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of statements on October 15, 2025, addressing judicial decisions, the ongoing government shutdown, and military funding.
In his first post, Self criticized a recent judicial action: “Another Democrat-appointed judicial activist obstructing the Trump Agenda that 77 million Americans voted for!” (October 15, 2025).
Later the same day, Self commented on discussions about resolving the government shutdown. He wrote: “There’s a lot of talk that Republicans need to compromise with the Democrats to end the government shutdown.
Compromise on what exactly?
We voted to fund the government for seven weeks with a clean CR that freezes spending at Biden/Pelosi levels.
There’s nothing to negotiate.” (October 15, 2025).
In another statement posted in the evening, Self expressed gratitude toward former President Trump regarding military pay during the shutdown: “Thank you, President Trump, for taking care of our troops despite the Democrats’ refusal to pay the men and women who defend our nation.” (October 15, 2025).
Keith Self was elected to Congress after defeating Sandeep Srivastava in both the 2022 and 2024 general elections. In 2024, he won by securing approximately 62.5% of the vote compared to Srivastava’s 37.6%, following an earlier victory in 2022 with about 60.5% of votes against Srivastava’s 36.9%.
