Rep. Keith Self, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 3rd district since 2023, has recently shared his thoughts on various national issues through social media. Self, who succeeded Van Taylor in Congress and resides in McKinney, Texas, often addresses economic and international concerns.
On May 6, 2025, Rep. Keith Self commented on the state of trade for Americans. He stated that “The American people continue to rack up wins as the playing field of trade is leveled.” His statement suggests a positive outlook on current trade policies and their impact on the United States.
The following day, May 7, 2025, Self expressed caution regarding international relations with Iran. He emphasized the need for vigilance by asserting “TRUST BUT VERIFY! The current situation with Iran is extremely dynamic—the U.S. must stay vigilant.” Furthermore, he noted that “We need to make sure that we continue to monitor what Iran is doing. Actions speak louder than words when it comes to Iran.”
Later on May 7, Rep. Self addressed fiscal matters by supporting his colleague’s views on economic management. He remarked that @RepArrington is spot on. He criticized the current financial trajectory of the nation by stating “The slow, politically managed fiscal decline of our nation is not what over 77 million Americans voted for.” Additionally, he urged his colleagues in the House GOP to enact significant spending cuts to prevent future generations from facing similar challenges.
Keith Self was born in Philadelphia in 1953 and currently resides in McKinney at age 70.
