Later that day at 18:26 UTC, Rep. Self addressed the government shutdown and criticized Democratic lawmakers in another post: “Americans don’t want their hard-earned taxpayer dollars going to this woke nonsense.

We aren’t going to give an inch. Democrats own this shutdown. https://t.co/Yu3pQjg2OR“.
