Senator Angela Paxton, a Republican representing Texas’s 8th Senate district since 2019, recently used her social media platform to highlight local support efforts during the government shutdown, raise awareness for National Adoption Month, and promote her latest podcast episode.
On November 6, 2025, Paxton addressed federal employees and SNAP recipients affected by the ongoing government shutdown. She wrote: “If you are a federal employee or a neighbor whose SNAP benefits are frozen due to the government shutdown, Seven Loaves is hosting a drive-thru food distribution on Friday, Nov 7 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Later that day, she marked National Adoption Month with a personal message reflecting on her own experience as an adopted child. On November 6, 2025, she posted: “November is #NationalAdoptionMonth! As an adopted child, I know the tremendous impact finding your forever family can have on a child. Learn how to make a differene: https://t.co/4jS8bGMCWj”.

Paxton has served in the Texas State Senate since her election in 2019 after succeeding Van Taylor. As state senator for District 8, she regularly communicates with constituents about legislative issues and community resources.
