Enrollment Analysis: African American students comprised 18.4% of Princeton ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,443 African American students enrolled in Princeton ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 35.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Princeton ISD schools welcomed 7,837 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 18.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Princeton ISD roughly covers schools within Collin County and has a main office in Princeton.

Among the 12 schools in Princeton ISD schools, Princeton High School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 269 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
