The Wakeland High School golf team secured its fourth consecutive Frisco Cup title at the annual tournament held Monday at PGA Fields Ranch East in Frisco. The event brought together all 12 high schools from the Frisco Independent School District, with teams competing by combining scores from both girls and boys golfers to determine an overall champion.
Wakeland finished first with a combined score of 295, narrowly edging out Reedy High School, which scored 298. Centennial High School took third place with a score of 301.
In individual competitions, Luke Colton of Wakeland was named boys champion after shooting a 2-under-par 70. On the girls’ side, Addison Reilly from Frisco claimed the top spot with a 1-over-par 73, winning on a scorecard playoff based on her performance on the back nine holes.
Additional honors included medalists for both boys and girls categories as well as mixed fourball pairs. For the boys, Jude Robbins (Wakeland) placed second with an even-par 72 and Carson Treadwell (Frisco) finished third at three over par. Among the girls, Megan Lee (Independence) tied Reilly’s score but placed second due to the playoff; Lisa Zhang (Centennial) came in third.
The mixed fourball event saw Jude Robbins and Savannah Sparks of Wakeland take first place after another scorecard playoff. The pairings of Ayaan Mulay/Megan Lee (Independence) and Luke Colton/Aashi Vakta (Wakeland) rounded out the top three teams.
With this victory, Wakeland continues its recent dominance in the competition, having won every year since 2022. Previous champions include Centennial and Liberty high schools in earlier years.
