Collin College is expanding its physical footprint with three new campuses as well as its academic offerings, with two new degree programs and an advanced technical certification program, according to reports by Community Impact Newspaper.
The three new campuses, at varying stages of completion, are located in Wylie, Celina and Farmersville. The Wylie campus is expected to open this fall, while Celina and Farmersville will open next year.
At the Wylie campus, planned course offerings include business management; education; fine arts; health sciences; hospitality management; real estate; and science, technology, engineering and math. From the start, the Celina campus will offer courses in business management, information technology, health professions, and computer aided drafting and design. The Farmersville campus is expected to offer classes in business management, logistics and supply chain management, computer systems, and new workforce programs.
Construction on the new IT Center at Preston Ridge campus also began in January, and is expected to provide 92,000 square feet of classrooms and lab spaces.
New degree programs include an RN-BSN program that allows registered nurses to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing; another is a four-year degree program in applied technology in cybersecurity.
