The Collin County NAACP has received a donation of $50,000 from the Credit Union of Texas (CUTX).

The credit union’s president and CEO, Eric Pointer, signed the check over to NAACP President June Jenkins, Second Vice President Cerita Burrell and Political Action Chair Sherasha Thomas.

“The generous donation from CUTX will allow our branch to immediately implement three programs that were under discussion,” June Jenkins said. “CUTX’s commitment and donation is a first step to help create equity in Collin County.”

With the donation, the NAACP plans to host the inaugural Historically Black Colleges and Universities job fair. Additionally, it will connect qualified graduating seniors around the U.S. with law enforcement jobs and will also provide public education in Collin County.

“The branch is excited about the partnership and looks forward to working with CUTX on additional programs to advance the mission of the NAACP,” Jenkins said.
