Frisco Independent School District (ISD) has opened its online registration for new students for the 2025-26 academic year. This process is available to families moving into the district, incoming kindergartners, and former students re-enrolling. The registration period began on February 11.

Parents of current Frisco ISD students, including those in the prekindergarten program, will receive emails inviting them to register for the upcoming school year in April. Starting April 1, Frisco ISD will also begin registering qualifying four-year-olds for pre-K for the 2025-26 school year.

The enrollment process requires parents to provide several documents: a certified copy of the child's birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency, the last report card or unofficial transcript (for high school students), and the enrolling parent's driver's license.

Students are assigned schools based on their residence within Frisco ISD. However, they have options to attend different campuses through a transfer process or by enrolling in one of the district's Schools and Programs of Choice.

Enrollment for the current school year continues until May 21, 2025. A special transfer period has been added exclusively for new K-8 students from February 17 to February 28. During this time, these students can apply for an in-district transfer if they indicate interest during their enrollment application.

Nelson Middle School has reached capacity and cannot accept new students for the next academic year. In such cases, new enrollees will be assigned to nearby campuses with transportation provided by Frisco ISD.

"Once an in-District transfer has been approved," notes Frisco ISD's guidelines, "a student in good standing may remain at the assigned campus for the duration of the grade levels available at that campus." However, it is emphasized that "in-District transfers are a privilege."
