The Frisco Independent School District (FISD) Board of Trustees is evaluating the future of Staley Middle School following the failure of the 2024 bond program. During a recent board meeting, district staff presented information regarding the school's history and potential paths forward.
Due to declining enrollment both at Staley and across the district, coupled with significant infrastructure investment needs for improvements at Staley, district staff have recommended retiring the campus either at the end of this school year or next. The recommendation suggests that students transition to nearby middle schools.
A comprehensive transition plan will be developed and presented in April, incorporating community feedback. The district assures that "all staff in good standing will be guaranteed a position" and "all student course requests and extracurricular programming will be honored at their new campus."
Frisco ISD is actively seeking input from the community on this matter. A community input meeting is scheduled for March 31 at 6:30 p.m., providing an opportunity for stakeholders to express their concerns or questions. Additionally, feedback can be sent via email to feedback@friscoisd.org.
