The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) joined with 13 member cities in the regional water system and showed their approval regarding a wholesale water services contract.

The NTMWD and the partner cities hosted a signing ceremony at the district’s headquarters in Wylie. The signing event was a serious show of unity and the beginning of their official partnership.

NTMWD officials commented on the contract and the partnership saying the partners are looking forward to a fresh new start.

“NTMWD appreciates the efforts by all involved to reach an agreement that the 13 member cities support. This is truly a historic time in the region and continued growth of both our Member and Customer communities will only increase demands on our system,” Rodney Rhoades, NTMWD interim executive director, said. “We look forward to a fresh start in the partnership with our cities as we work together to provide the essential services needed to support our fast-growing region.”
