On February 29, 2024, Congressman Keith Self took a stand by voting against another short-term Continuing Resolution (CR), aligning himself with 96 House Republicans who also opposed the resolution.

In a statement, Congressman Keith Self expressed his dissatisfaction with the CR, saying, "This CR does absolutely nothing to address our border crisis or change the trajectory of Washington’s out-of-control spending." He highlighted the need for action on critical issues, such as the border crisis and government spending.

Self further criticized the decision to extend the current spending levels instead of passing the remaining appropriations bills, stating, “Instead of passing the remaining appropriations bills, today's action kicks the spending can down the road again and extends the exorbitant Biden-Pelosi spending levels." He emphasized that Congress had already taken steps to address these issues by passing a border bill and implementing significant spending reductions in the appropriations bills that are awaiting action in the Senate.

The vote against the Continuing Resolution underscores Congressman Keith Self's commitment to addressing pressing national issues and advocating for responsible fiscal policies.
