Mckinney ISD schools Education: 1,282 multiracial students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,282 multiracial students enrolled in Mckinney ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 13.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Mckinney ISD schools welcomed 23,342 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 5.5% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Mckinney ISD roughly covers schools within Collin County and has a main office in McKinney.

Among the 32 schools in Mckinney ISD schools, McKinney High School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 123 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
