Stacey Kemp, County Clerk | Dallas voice
The Collin Central Appraisal District Board of Directors is currently seeking applicants for the Collin County Appraisal Review Board (ARB) for terms starting on January 1, 2025. These appointments can be for either one or two years, concluding on December 31, 2025, or December 31, 2026. The ARB plays a crucial role in addressing taxpayer protests regarding property appraisals conducted by the Collin Central Appraisal District.
Serving on the ARB requires a significant time commitment during spring and summer. In the previous year, over 45,000 hearings were held by the Collin County ARB. Members may not have daily schedules but must remain available throughout the week and potentially on some Saturdays during May, June, and July. Regular meetings occur monthly throughout the year. Members receive per-diem compensation for meetings and reimbursement for any expenses incurred while performing their duties. Additionally, training sessions are mandatory for all members.
Applications must be submitted to the Collin CAD Board of Directors via the CAD Taxpayer Liaison Officer by September 30, 2024. Applicants need to have been residents of Collin County for at least two years prior to applying.
Further details about membership requirements can be found in Chapter 6.41 of the Texas Tax Code. Interested individuals can obtain applications from collinarb.org or by calling 469-742-9200. Online submissions are also accepted at https://collinarb.org/application/.
