Collin County Judge Chris Hill is now accepting applications for the 2024/2025 Collin County Youth Leadership Council. This initiative provides high school students in Collin County a chance to learn about county government, visit local facilities, and engage with elected officials on community policy issues.

"Collin County students are among the best and the brightest in Texas," stated Judge Hill. "I've been so impressed with the students in the Youth Leadership Council. They have a genuine desire to understand how county government operates and to interact with their state and local officials. These are truly the future leaders of our community."

The program is open to high school students residing or studying at public, private, or home schools within Collin County. Participants will meet elected officials and tour locations such as the county courthouse, juvenile detention facility, and Texas State Capitol in Austin.

Applications must include a short essay and a letter of recommendation and be submitted by Friday, November 8. The first council meeting is scheduled for Saturday, December 7. Application forms can be accessed online at www.chrishill.us/youth_leadership_council.pdf. Further inquiries can be directed to Hilari Monk at hmonk@co.collin.tx.us or (972) 548-4632.

Judge Chris Hill serves as the 27th county judge and chief elected official of Collin County, Texas, having previously served five years as a county commissioner.
