City of Anna issued the following announcement on Nov. 13.

 Anna Fire Rescue is seeking volunteer firefighters, EMT’s, and Paramedics to join our rapidly growing team! We are a combination department with career and volunteer members. Most of our volunteer members are in the process of completing their certifications while gaining valuable experience in advance of beginning their Fire Service careers. 

We eagerly embrace the role of being a proving-ground for those seeking to enter the fire service. 

Anna Fire Rescue is dedicated to the development and success of each and every member of our team – both volunteer and paid. Our philosophy is driven by Servant Leadership models and we believe that there is no greater calling than to serve others. 

Our reason for being is to help others in their moment of need and to do so with unwavering compassion, professionalism, and commitment to each other. 

The new Fire Station #1 – NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION! 

Requirements:

 • High School diploma or GED 

• Valid TXDL 

• Safe driving record 

• Must pass drug testing 

• Must past criminal history and background investigation 

• TCFP Fire Fighter-Basic certification - or - 

• TDSHS EMT-Basic certification 

• Fully certified Fire Fighter/EMT’s and Paramedics are preferred. 

• 60 hours service per month (minimum) on assigned shift

 Anna Fire Rescue is funded to maintain 18 volunteer positions. All applications will be evaluated as received and remain on file until a vacancy occurs. When an opening occurs, or at other various times, AFD will notify all certified volunteer candidates of a test date. Testing will include the physical ability test followed by a board interview. From this process an eligibility list will be established.
