Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro lag behind Detroit-Warren-Dearborn in 2019

The Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area exported $39.4 billion in 2019, less than exports from Detroit-Warren-Dearborn in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area consists of 10 counties.

The Detroit-Warren-Dearborn metro area comprises six counties exporting $41.1 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
