A drag show staged at Plano's Ebb & Flow restaurant was said to be for all ages, but Plano Councilman Shelby Williams argues that it was inappropriate.

Williams said on Facebook the performance at the restaurant included a grown man clad in panties while dancing to songs with suggestive lyrics. He added on the post that a very small number of Plano residents might think it is appropriate, while most people know it is not, but fear being labeled as homophobic or transphobic.

“It’s not,” he continued in the Facebook post. “This has nothing to do with the First Amendment or public versus private property. This is entirely about recognizing what’s OK and not OK for kids.”

Williams maintains that if Plano residents don’t express their opposition, this type of entertainment will be pushed at children more aggressively and it will get worse.

Fox News reported that Blaze TV news host Sara Gonzalez is labeling the incident sexual abuse of children and is calling for action.

According to a New York Post report, the event required a ticket for admission and included an invitation that included a disclaimer and a warning of “viewer discretion.” The Post report also noted that the social media postings for the event warned of language and suggestive dialogue that “may not be appropriate for all ages.”
