The City of McKinney will celebrate the Fourth of July with its annual Red, White and BOOM! event, offering free family activities, live entertainment, and a fireworks display. The festivities are set to begin downtown with a hometown parade at 10 a.m., followed by the Yankee Doodle block party at 11 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to explore the dining and shopping options available in the Historic Downtown Cultural District.
Activities will continue at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park, featuring music, food, children's activities, and fireworks. Live entertainment will start with a concert by The Rich Girls at 6 p.m., followed by Aura at 8 p.m. All activities and parking are free and open to the public.
Parking attendants will guide vehicles to designated spots in several areas including Apex Centre (enter from Alma Road), Gabe Nesbitt Community Park (enter from Eldorado Parkway), and Wolford Elementary School (6951 Berkshire Road). Accessible parking is available within Gabe Nesbitt Community Park via the south entrance on Alma Road for those displaying a state-issued accessible parking placard or license plate.
