The City of McKinney will conduct mosquito control spraying in two areas following positive tests for West Nile Virus in local mosquito pools. The first spraying is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on Monday, July 1, weather permitting. This area is generally east of Valley Creek Trail, west of College Street, south of Virginia Parkway, and north of Gateway Boulevard.

A second round of spraying will commence at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, also weather permitting. This zone includes the area generally east of Woodson Drive, west of Cheverny Drive, south of Winding Brook Drive, and north of Collin McKinney Parkway.

To inform residents about the activity, signs will be posted at major intersections. Additional information and maps detailing the spray areas are available on the city’s website at McKinneyTexas.org/MosquitoControl.

Residents within the designated spray zones are advised to stay indoors during the spraying period and bring their pets inside for safety. Those who prefer not to have their homes sprayed should contact City of McKinney Health Compliance at 972-547-7447.
