District Attorney Greg Willis's office has successfully secured a 55-year prison sentence without parole for Lloyd Amos, a Plano resident, who was found guilty of the continuous sexual abuse of a child over a decade.

Amos, aged 55, had ongoing access to the victim and repeatedly abused them until the victim reached the age of 15. The abuse came to light in 2022 when the victim confided in a sibling. This sibling confronted Amos through text messages, during which Amos acknowledged his actions and mentioned that he had "repented for the crime" and would "take care of the monster inside himself." Following this revelation, the sibling informed their mother, leading to law enforcement being contacted and an investigation initiated.

Detective Kristina McClain from the Plano Police Department conducted an investigation that included interviewing the victim who provided details about the abuse.

The jury found Amos guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, which is classified as a first-degree felony with potential punishment ranging from 25 to 99 years or life imprisonment. Judge Tom Nowak sentenced Amos to 55 years in prison without parole eligibility as per legal requirements for this offense. District Attorney Greg Willis commented on the sentencing: “No child should suffer like this child, not even for a second. Now, with this predator locked away for over 50 years, our kids are safer."

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Claire Mosley and Alex Haynes with support from District Attorney Investigators Greg Bowers and Kim Voigt-Eanes, Victim Assistance Coordinator Valerie Miller, and Legal Secretary Christy Ware.
