The Frisco Education Foundation (FEF) marked its 25th anniversary by distributing over $81,000 in educator grants across the Frisco Independent School District (FISD). These funds were allocated to support various educational initiatives and classroom enhancements.

At Clark Middle School, a grant of $3,000 will be used to establish a house system aimed at preparing future-ready learners. Riddle Elementary School received $3,500 for purchasing tabanos to enhance their drum club and creative engagement activities.

Additional grants were awarded to Emerson High for thermal cameras for science classes, Wilkinson Middle for headphones in world languages classes, and Staley Middle for college visits under the AVID program. Other schools like Rogers Elementary will use their funds to revamp the nonfiction section of their library. Vandeventer Middle plans to install a schoolwide garden for experiential learning, while Talley Elementary will equip classrooms with sensory items to aid student self-regulation.

This initiative is part of the Grants for Great Ideas program by FEF, which distributed 52 grants across 32 schools within FISD this year. The funding was made possible through contributions from Frisco ISD payroll deductions and community partners such as CoServ and the Frisco Women’s League.

Ashley Sine, director of the Frisco Education Foundation and community relations, expressed her enthusiasm about the impact of these grants: “Seeing the joy these grants bring educators, there’s nothing like it. These grants allow the Frisco ISD community to directly support educators by providing resources that make a meaningful difference in students’ education and growth.”

Since its inception in 1999, FEF has awarded 830 grants totaling more than $1.24 million. Terri West, a program specialist with FEF, noted that “FEF grants are helping FISD educators transform their ideas into impactful realities.”

For those interested in supporting similar initiatives or applying for scholarships and programs like Mindbender Camp or Class of 2025 scholarships, further details are available on the FEF website.
