On December 5, 2024, Rep. Keith Self expressed his support for former President Trump through a tweet stating: "Rep. Keith Self Pulls the Rug from Under The New York Times: 'President Trump, I’ve Got Your Back' READ HERE @GatewayPundit".
In another post on the same day, Rep. Self discussed sharing an email from The New York Times to expose what he perceives as the workings of liberal media. He stated: "With just one post on X, I was able to share an email from the discredited @NYTimes and expose how the liberal media operates. Tens of thousands have seen it. Very cool @elonmusk."
Later that day, Rep. Self commented on GOP Senators' stance towards political appointments by President Trump compared to their previous support for Merrick Garland's confirmation. He remarked: "Correct. And the same GOP Senators who voted to confirm Merrick Garland should have absolutely ZERO qualms about President Trump’s appointments. Get them through."
