The City of McKinney has announced plans to spray a specific area within the city limits in response to a mosquito pool testing positive for West Nile Virus. The spraying is scheduled for 10 p.m. on Friday, July 26, weather permitting. It will cover a one-mile radius around the location of the positive test at 1101 E. Louisiana St.

To keep residents informed, signs will be placed at major intersections, and additional information along with a map of the affected area will be available on the city's website at McKinneyTexas.org/MosquitoControl.

Residents living within the designated spray zone are advised to remain indoors during the spraying period and ensure that pets are kept inside as well. Those who prefer not to have their homes included in the spraying should contact City of McKinney Health Compliance at 972-547-7447.
