The City of McKinney has announced plans to conduct mosquito spraying in various areas next week following the detection of West Nile Virus in local mosquito pools. Spraying operations are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m., contingent on favorable weather conditions, and will target a one-mile radius surrounding each positive test location.

The scheduled spraying locations are as follows:

- Monday, Aug. 26: 2001 S. Central Expressway

- Tuesday, Aug. 27: 2996 Virginia Parkway

- Wednesday, Aug. 28: 2321 Lacebark Lane

- Thursday, Aug. 29: 4269 Eldorado Parkway

- Friday, Aug. 30: 10302 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

To ensure residents are informed, signs will be placed at major intersections indicating active spraying zones. Additional details and maps outlining the affected areas can be accessed on the city’s official website at McKinneyTexas.org/MosquitoControl.

Residents within these zones are encouraged to remain indoors during spraying activities and to bring pets inside for the evening. Those who prefer not to have their homes sprayed should reach out to City of McKinney Health Compliance by calling 972-547-7447.
