Keith Self, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 3rd district since 2023, recently took to social media to express his views on various issues. In a series of tweets, Self shared his stance on government subsidies and regulatory policies.

On March 6, 2025, Self questioned the rationale behind subsidizing sugary sodas that he claims have "zero nutritional value." He invited readers to learn more about his legislative efforts supporting the MAHA movement by directing them to an external link. "Why are we subsidizing sugary sodas with zero nutritional value? Read more about my bill which supports the MAHA movement here:"

Later that day, Self praised former President Trump's deregulation efforts, stating they have resulted in significant financial savings for American families. According to Self's tweet at 20:38 UTC, these actions have saved each family of four approximately $2,100 by halting regulations from the Biden administration. "President Trump’s deregulation effort has already saved families THOUSANDS of dollars."

In another tweet posted shortly after at 20:42 UTC, Self highlighted further financial benefits attributed to Trump's policies. He claimed that ending costly government regulations under Trump's leadership has saved Americans over $180 billion overall. "Want some good news this Thursday?
