Keith Self, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 3rd district, has shared several tweets expressing his views on recent economic developments in the United States. The tweets focus on gas prices and the perceived impact of political leadership on these changes.

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Keith Self commented on gas prices under different administrations. He noted that during "Joe Biden's failed presidency," gas prices were a financial burden, whereas currently in Texas, they have decreased to $2.65 from $3.07 one year ago. He attributed this change to President Trump's efforts in providing economic relief: "During Joe Biden's failed presidency, gas prices were hurting our wallets. Today in Texas, gas prices have plummeted to $2.65. One year ago, these prices were $3.07."

In another tweet posted shortly after on the same day, Self expressed optimism regarding the decline in gas prices: "Gas prices down, optimism WAY UP!"

The following day, March 18, 2025, Self tweeted about the spirit of America in response to what he described as historic developments: "Historic! This right here is the can-do spirit of America."
