The Centennial tennis team is set to compete in the UIL state tournament for the third consecutive year, aiming for a second straight 5A championship. The team's next match is against Austin Liberal Arts and Sciences Academy (LASA) in the state semifinals. This match is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, at Waco Regional Tennis Center.

Should Centennial emerge victorious against LASA—a team they defeated in last year's championship—the Titans will advance to the final round. The championship match is slated for 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Baylor University.

Currently ranked No. 1 in the 5A state rankings, Centennial recently triumphed over No. 2 Independence in the 5A Region II final held on Friday. Their journey back to state highlights both their challenging path and the high caliber of Frisco ISD tennis teams, as evidenced by their victory over No. 3 Wakeland in the regional quarterfinals.

Last year marked a significant achievement when Centennial became the first Frisco ISD tennis team to secure a state championship title. Despite facing formidable opponents this season, the Titans have dominated their five playoff matches with an aggregate score of 50-9.

Good luck to Centennial at the state tournament!
