Frisco ISD cross country teams achieved significant success at the district championships on Thursday, marking the start of their postseason. In District 11-5A, the Independence boys and Liberty girls secured team titles. Meanwhile, in District 12-5A, the Reedy boys and Wakeland girls finished as district runners-up.
Several Frisco ISD runners claimed individual titles. Independence's Avery Clements won the girls' 11-5A race, while Wakeland's Presley Robertson triumphed in the girls' 12-5A race.
The boys' 11-5A race featured a close finish between Heritage's Josh McCartney and Lebanon Trail's Andrew Malan. McCartney completed the 5K course at Myers Park in McKinney in 15 minutes, 42.8 seconds, narrowly beating Malan by three-tenths of a second.
In the boys' 12-5A race, Reedy's Daniel Escribano was the top finisher from Frisco ISD, securing second place.
Additionally, during the District 9-4A meet held on Thursday, Panther Creek boys finished fifth while the girls placed sixth.
