The regional semifinals of the football playoffs are set to take place this Friday, featuring two teams from Frisco Independent School District (Frisco ISD). Lone Star and Reedy high schools will both compete in the 5A Division I Region II bracket, aiming for a spot in the regional final.

Lone Star secured their position by defeating Red Oak 34-28 in the area round last week. Meanwhile, Reedy made an impressive comeback to beat Georgetown 49-45, scoring the last 42 points of the game. Both teams have shown strong performances leading up to these crucial matches.

Reedy holds a record of 10-2 and will face Highland Park, who boasts an 11-1 record. This matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Ford Center. On the other hand, Lone Star also has an 11-1 record and is set to play against Midlothian, which stands at 10-2. Their game will commence at 6 p.m. at Birdville Fine Arts/Athletics Complex.

Should both Frisco ISD teams win their respective games on Friday, they would face each other in a regional final. However, securing victories this week remains a priority as they prepare for tough competition ahead.

Tickets for Reedy's game can be purchased through tickets.friscoisd.org while tickets for Lone Star's match are available via Birdville ISD's platform with parking costing $5 cash only.
