The Lone Star football team is set to face Highland Park in the 5A Division I Region II final, which serves as a state quarterfinal. This matchup follows Lone Star's dramatic 39-35 victory over Midlothian, where they scored two touchdowns in the last five minutes of the game.

The upcoming game will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 6, at Ford Center. Both teams have identical records of 12-1 and will meet for the first time since their playoff encounter in 2020, which Highland Park won with a score of 30-20.

In the previous year, Lone Star managed to defeat Highland Park twice; once during non-district play and again in an overtime playoff game. The winner of this week's match will advance to the 5A Division I state semifinals scheduled for the following week.

Tickets for the game are available at tickets.friscoisd.org.
