The City of McKinney has announced plans to spray for mosquitoes in a specific area following the detection of West Nile Virus in a mosquito pool. The spraying is scheduled between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., contingent on weather conditions, and will encompass a one-mile radius around the site where the virus was found.

The operation is set for Thursday, September 5, at 2800 Barnsley Drive. To keep residents informed, signs will be placed at major intersections, and additional details along with a map of the spray zone can be accessed on the city's website at McKinneyTexas.org/MosquitoControl.

Residents within the designated area are advised to remain indoors and ensure their pets are inside during spraying hours. Those who prefer not to have their homes included in the spraying can reach out to City of McKinney Health Compliance by calling 972-547-7447.
