Downtown McKinney is set to host its annual 'Home for the Holidays… A McKinney Christmas' event, transforming the area into a festive winter wonderland. The celebration will take place from November 29 through December 1, offering a range of activities and entertainment for visitors.
The event promises a "small-town feel with a big holiday spirit," according to organizers. It will cover a 14-block area filled with holiday-themed attractions, food, and live performances. Admission and parking are free, with complimentary shuttle services available.
A highlight of the festivities is the official Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 29 at 6:15 p.m., sponsored by HEB with community support. Santa Claus will also be present on the square to meet children and hear their holiday wishes.
Entertainment includes three days of live performances on the McKinney stage, featuring acts like Mosaix following the tree lighting. Attendees can expect to see popular holiday characters throughout Downtown McKinney.
Family-friendly attractions include rides such as a Ferris wheel, carousel, snow hill, Frosty's train, and more. Other features include a petting zoo, rock climbing wall, and Candyland.
The event supports local businesses with over 150 stores participating in Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping events during extended festival hours.
