The district basketball season has commenced, featuring notable matchups as the winter holiday approaches. On Tuesday night, December 17, Heritage and Memorial boys' basketball teams faced off in a District 11-5A game. Heritage, ranked No. 16 in Class 5A statewide, secured a narrow victory with a score of 69-66 against Memorial, which holds the No. 17 spot.
Other state-ranked teams from Frisco Independent School District (FISD) include the Panther Creek boys, positioned at No. 16 in Class 4A, and the Memorial girls, ranked No. 11 in Class 5A. The Memorial girls' team continued their undefeated streak in District 11-5A play by defeating Heritage on Tuesday night.
Most FISD basketball teams are scheduled for one more district game before taking a break for the holidays and will participate in tournaments during this period. Fans can follow district standings on the Frisco ISD standings page.
