The Panther Creek High School track and field team concluded its season on a high note at the UIL 4A State Championship held on May 2. The girls' team secured third place in the state competition, with standout performances from several athletes.
Falyn Lott led the team by winning two individual state titles and earning second place in two additional events at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. Lott set a new 4A state meet record in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.67 seconds and also claimed victory in the long jump. She achieved silver medals in both the high jump and the 100 hurdles.
Hannah Forde contributed to the team's success by securing a state title in the triple jump, while also placing fifth in the long jump. Ruth Eyanagho, another member of Panther Creek's girls track team, finished fifth in the discus event.
Despite not having any qualifiers for the three relay events—which are typically crucial for high team scores due to their double point value—the girls' team amassed a total of 50 points. Iowa Colony took first place with 58 points, followed by Paris with 56 points, and then Panther Creek.
In the boys' competition, Jalen Lott from Panther Creek had an impressive performance as well, winning gold in the long jump and finishing fifth in the high jump.
Frisco ISD’s other eleven high schools will compete in Class 5A at their state meet scheduled for May 3 at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
