The Panther Creek girls swimming and diving team has secured the Class 4A Region II championship title, while the boys team finished as runner-up. Both teams will participate in the upcoming UIL 4A State Swimming and Diving Championship scheduled for February 13-14 in San Antonio.
The girls' team accumulated a total of 329 points, outpacing Sunnyvale, which scored 236 points, and Carrollton Ranchview with 184 points. The boys' team earned 229 points, placing second behind Sunnyvale's 308 points.
Panther Creek's Arielle Ngero was recognized as the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (TISCA) Girls Diver of the Meet. Megan Gnoza from Panther Creek received the accolade of Girls Swim Coach of the Meet.
Ngero claimed victory in the 1-meter diving competition. Her teammate, Cuba Eckard, won the 100-yard butterfly event. Eckard also contributed to two winning relay teams: she joined Camille Thelen and Kayva Katralapalli on the victorious 200 medley relay, and collaborated with Cora Eckard, Kiersten Wallace, and Katralapalli on the triumphant 400 freestyle relay.
In the boys' division, Miguel Cabral won the 500 freestyle race and participated in securing victory in the 200 medley relay alongside Anas Al Shaikhli, Rahul Kailasam, and Davit Bablanyan.
