Frisco ISD girls basketball players earn All-District honors

Girls basketball players from Frisco ISD have been recognized for their outstanding performances by being selected to the All-District teams in districts 11-5A, 12-5A, and 9-4A. The selections were made by coaches within each district.

Among the honorees, Pressley Powell from Memorial was named MVP. Makayla Ellison, also from Memorial, received the Offensive Player of the Year award. Maya Thompson from Emerson was honored as Defensive Player of the Year. Royal Crooks from Heritage was recognized as Newcomer of the Year, while Payton Jones from Memorial was named Sixth Woman of the Year. The Coaching Staff of the Year award went to Memorial.

The First Team includes Pressley Powell (Memorial), Makayla Ellison (Memorial), Maya Thompson (Emerson), Royal Crooks (Heritage), Payton Jones (Memorial), Jadyn Middleton (Heritage), Lillian Johnson (Liberty), Kathyrn Murphy (Liberty), Jevan Collier (Memorial), and Katelynn Evans (Memorial).

The Second Team features Emily Bray (Memorial), Sydney Murphy (Memorial), Ashley Hubert (Independence), Danielle Henry (Heritage), Tina Webb (Liberty), and Christal Webb (Liberty).

The All-Defensive Team consists of Caia Thomas (Centennial), Ava Wyatt (Frisco), Kathyrn Johnson-Pratt (Independence), Lyrhic Gleen (Emerson), Madison Ravin (Heritage), Anaiah Warrior (Liberty), and Samantha Everidge (Memorial).

In another district, Charlotte Cavin from Wakeland was named MVP. Kendall Foster from Lone Star received Offensive Player of the Year honors, while Chloe Chiniara from Wakeland was awarded Defensive Player of the Year. Bryliegh Crabtree from RL Turner earned Newcomer of the Year recognition, and Phoenix Garb from Reedy was named Sixth Man of the Year. The Coaching Staff of the Year accolade went to Wakeland.

First Team selections include Raegan Wheatley (Newman Smith), Karrington Jackson (Reedy), Nya McElroye (Reedy), Kennedy Hughes (Creekview), Patience Simmons (Lone Star), Kate Danner and Ellington Heis both from Highland Park, and Kaylei Thornton from Wakeland.

Second Team members are Joniyah Woods and Jaden Jackson both from Newman Smith and The Colony respectively; Laveri Johnson also from The Colony; Amaiya Mendez from Creekview; Kennedy Jones and Erin Williams both representing Lone Star; Lila Collins, Cate Young, Tyler Corwin all hailing Highland Park; Madison Epps representing Wakeland.

Panther Creek had its own set of honorees with Senese Rainey being named MVP. Jaela Wade took home Defensive Player Of The Year honors while Panther Creek's coaching staff earned recognition as well.

First Team members for Panther Creek included Jaeda Wade alongside Kiersten Dickson & TJ Laing-Ariche whereas Aubrie Massanet along with Nazzy Michael made it onto Second Team list.
