The Heritage boys basketball team has reached a significant milestone by advancing to the state semifinals for the first time. The Coyotes completed an undefeated district play, secured back-to-back district titles, and now stand on the brink of a state championship game appearance.

Heritage's next challenge is against Birdville in the Class 5A Division I state semifinals. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lewisville High School. Heritage holds a record of 32-4, while Birdville stands at 35-3. The winner will move on to compete in the state championship at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

In their recent regional title match, Heritage triumphed over West Mesquite with a score of 72-47. Bryson Howard and Cameron Lomax each contributed 24 points to this victory, marking Heritage as the first Frisco ISD boys basketball team to reach a state semifinal.

Heritage approaches this crucial game riding a 16-game winning streak.
