He emphasized the significance of their victory, stating it secured Texas' independence and paved the way for the Lone Star Republic.

Self commented on public sentiment regarding U.S. immigration policy, remarking how poll results could impact the Democratic party, specifically referencing Senator Hollen and other DeMS-13 members. He tweeted, "This poll has to be devastating to Sen. Hollen and other DeMS-13 members. Americans overwhelmingly support the enforcement of U.S. immigration law!"
Keith Self was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1953 and currently resides in McKinney. He has been serving in Texas' 3rd District since 2023, succeeding Van Taylor.
