Collin College has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Bellwether Award.

The school announced it's one of 30 community colleges across the country competing for the honor and among the 10 finalists in the Planning, Governance, and Finance category.  The Bellwether Awards have three categories of recognition.

"The Board of Trustees and I are extremely proud of this recognition as it serves to acknowledge efforts across the organization to improve the college's efficiency and effectiveness," Dr Neil Matkin, Collin College District president, said on the school's website. "Congratulations to all the finalists whose hard work brought them to this stage in the process — Collin College is among exceptional company."

The finalists will now undergo a second review during the 2021 Community College Futures assembly to be held virtually this upcoming January.  Each school has to host an hourlong presentation to a panel. A winner will be chosen in each of the three categories.
