There were 2,700 Asian students enrolled in Wylie ISD schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,700 Asian students enrolled in Wylie ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 20% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Wylie ISD schools welcomed 18,850 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 14.3% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Wylie ISD roughly covers schools within Collin County and has a main office in Wylie.

Among the 21 schools in Wylie ISD schools, Wylie High School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 501 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
