Frisco ISD tennis teams are preparing for intense competition in the regional quarterfinals, a stage where they often encounter each other.

A highly anticipated matchup is set between Class 5A teams ranked #1 and #3 in the state polls. Centennial, currently holding the top rank and defending its title as the 5A state champion, will compete against Wakeland, ranked third. Another notable contest in the 5A Region II quarterfinal will feature Independence, ranked second statewide, facing off against Highland Park, which holds the fifth position.

In addition to these contests, Panther Creek, positioned ninth in Class 4A rankings, is scheduled to play against Whitesboro in their respective Region II quarterfinal match.

The concentration of high-ranking teams within Region II poses significant challenges for advancing to the state tournament slated for October 23-24 in Waco.

Match schedules for Tuesday, October 15 include:

- Centennial versus Wakeland at Lovejoy High School at 10 a.m.

- Independence versus Highland Park at Coppell High School at 10 a.m.

- Panther Creek versus Whitesboro at Memorial High School at 10 a.m.
